Early Beginnings

Cycling developed in Turkmenistan as early as the 1930s. In 1935, cyclists set out from Ashgabat on a long-distance ride toward Moscow, covering thousands of kilometers across the region. These early endurance rides laid the foundation for a national cycling tradition that continued to grow through the following decades.
