The world's most famous cycling race is back! The 2026 Tour de France — the 113th edition of the legendary event — began on July 4th with a Grand Départ in Barcelona, Spain, and will finish on the streets of Paris on July 26th.
This year's race is a true test of endurance. Across 21 stages, the riders will cover 3,333 kilometers with a staggering total elevation gain of over 54,000 meters. The route includes 8 mountain stages, taking the peloton through the Pyrenees and the Alps, with legendary climbs that have decided the fate of the race for over a century. There are two rest days, on July 13th and July 20th, giving the riders a brief chance to recover before the toughest stages.
For the first time in years, the Tour opened with a team time trial — a format where each team races together against the clock. It sets an exciting tone for the weeks of racing ahead, where every second can make the difference between victory and defeat.
The Tour de France is more than just a race. It is a celebration of the sport, watched by millions of fans around the world. It brings together the best cyclists on the planet, pushing the limits of human endurance across some of the most beautiful landscapes in Europe.
